I worked on the Disney Castle Opening for the live-action Mulan movie released in 2020 as a 3D animator and artist for yU+co. My initial responsibilities involved animating a movie-accurate model of the phoenix to follow the illuminated path typically traced out by Tinkerbell. This involved roughly matching the path of the phoenix to camera and making iterations to fit the desired look.
In addition, I was responsible for modeling and texture work of the castle, based on existing models of the Disneyland Shanghai castle, replacing the original Disney castle in the scene. I was also responsible for work on the castle exterior walls and placing ships in the river.
